Huis van Oombergen
About the building
The eighteenth-century Huis van Oombergen has long played a central role in the cultural and intellectual life of Ghent. The building, designed by David 't Kindt, combines rococo architecture with later classicist and eclectic additions. It was acquired by the Belgian state in 1892, carefully restored and extended, and transferred to a private long-lease holder in 2005. Since 2022, that long lease has been transferred to Triginta.

Long-term value
In 2025, Triginta initiated construction works to improve the building's energy performance, in close collaboration with KANTL and the Flanders Heritage Agency, and within the framework of monument protection. Combining continued institutional use with careful, respectful upgrades, so that Huis van Oombergen remains firmly embedded in Ghent's cultural landscape for years to come.
