Kapel ‘t Groen Kwartier
About the building
The former chapel of the Military Hospital in Antwerp is one of the most striking buildings on the redeveloped site of 't Groen Kwartier. Built between 1899 and 1910, it originally served as part of the hospital complex before the site was purchased by the City of Antwerp in 1993. Ahead of its reopening in 2014, the chapel was carefully restored with great attention to craftsmanship and original materials. The building quickly gained international recognition, including the Restaurant and Bar Design Award for Most Beautiful Restaurant in the World in 2015.
