Paterspand
About the building
Paterspand is a former Franciscan friary consisting of a church, conventual buildings and ancillary structures. Built between 1897 and 1899 in a sober neo-Gothic style, the complex is organised in a U-shaped layout around a central courtyard and enclosed monastic garden. The site has been carefully transformed for contemporary use while retaining its architectural character. The central courtyard is now covered by a glass and steel structure that connects the different volumes and creates a shared interior space.

Long-term value
Paterspand is being developed into a layered destination that combines work, stay and living within a single historic ensemble. The planned renovation of the church, the residential project in the garden and the new bed and breakfast suites will add complementary functions to the existing office and coworking use.
