In 2023, Triginta completed Keerdok, the very first building on the Keerdok site in Mechelen. This urban redevelopment project is transforming the city’s former docks and industrial zones into a vibrant, sustainable extension of the city.

Keerdok offers 516 public parking spaces, numerous charging points for electric vehicles—including fast chargers—and a large bike parking facility. A 999 m² commercial unit on the ground floor provides space for retail, while the upper floors house the offices of Voka Mechelen-Kempen.

Thanks to European funding, Keerdok is a model for smart charging and energy management. A large rooftop solar installation generates 170 kWp, and an advanced energy management system distributes the green energy efficiently across the commercial space, office areas, communal zones and charging infrastructure. Power can even be stored in the battery of a (shared) electric car and returned to the building later.

Beneath the site lies a thermal energy field (Beoveld), which Triginta acquired in 2024. It currently supplies energy to Voka’s offices and offers sufficient capacity for future users as the site continues to grow.
